What each tab calculates
Margin Call
Calculates the exact stock price that will trigger a margin call using the formula: Margin Call Price = Loan Amount / (1 − Maintenance Margin). Shows position value, borrowed amount, current equity, margin level, price drop buffer, and deposit amount needed to avoid the margin call. Alerts when position is dangerously close.
Leverage & Risk
Calculates leverage ratio, borrowed amount, available buying power, margin interest cost, and break-even return required to cover interest charges. Shows how leverage amplifies both gains and losses across a scenario range — the double-edged sword of margin trading in one chart.
Scenarios
Runs a complete scenario table showing position value, equity, margin level, P&L, and margin call status across a user-defined price range. Each row is color-coded: green (safe), amber (caution zone within 20% of margin call), red (margin call triggered). Line chart shows equity and margin level curves.
Portfolio
Calculates total margin requirements, total borrowed amount, and overall portfolio margin health across multiple positions simultaneously. Each position can have a different maintenance margin requirement. Shows per-position margin call prices in the table and a margin requirement vs equity bar chart.
Compare
Compares margin call prices for the same position across up to four brokers with different maintenance margin requirements. Identifies the broker where you have the most room before a margin call and ranks brokers by safety buffer. Bar chart shows margin call price vs current price across brokers.
